Be part of what truly makes us special and impactful. **The Opportunity** As a dedicated Business Risk and Controls Advisor Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and guiding risk management and control activities across multiple critical domains. This individual will act as a key advisor to an executive director, ensuring that risk management frameworks are effectively implemented and maintained across the Information Security, MIAM, Privacy, Data & Analytics, Third Party Risk Management, and Resiliency teams. The lead will be instrumental in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies. Promotes risk-awareness and the overall effectiveness of risk and compliance management programs, risk analytics and operations in the business. This role will partner and collaborate with Compliance and Risk Management, as well as Business Operations, IT, Audit Services, and Regulators to support risk and compliance-based initiatives. Responsible for supporting business leader adherence to the established risk framework and ongoing supervision of business controls; including, risk and control self-assessments, identification and evaluation of control effectiveness, identifying control failures, facilitating risk and compliance remediation, internal and external audits and regulatory exams, and monitoring of the first line of defense to minimize risk exposures and strengthen the overall control environment. Manages risk assessment data and uses critical thinking to identify key data-driven insights tied to first line of defense. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be **in the office 4 days per week.** This position is based out of Plano, TX. Relocation assistance is **not** available for this position. **What you'll do:** + Directs and leads all aspects of multiple initiatives in support of risk and/or regulatory compliance related initiatives including but not limited to: oversight of procedures/process, accurate regulatory reporting and filing, document governance, risk control self-assessments, procedure governance, control design, new product controls, CoSA Third Party Governance, or quality governance. + Applies a well-rounded understanding of risk and regulatory compliance to includes business strategies and solutions. + Responsible for first line of defense data analysis, report preparation and trend analysis, utilizing business intelligence tools. + Designs solutions for unanswered business questions and anticipates future business needs. + Directs, organizes and oversees action plans designed to enhance governance practices in alignment with risk and compliance frameworks. + Influences and develops innovative solutions to mitigate risk and prevent risk exposures which result in significant business impacts. + Manages the most complex projects involving cross-functional areas within the first line of defense. + Defines and outlines new approaches to problem resolution and leads project team from concept through implementation. + Advises senior management on the status of their control environment related to risk identification and control weaknesses. + Identifies critical areas to monitor and raises issues and findings to appropriate partners. + Serves as a primary resource to cross functional team members and advises on risk mitigation opportunities. + Stays informed of changes to the regulatory environment to ensure proper compliance with processes and requirements are followed. + Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures. **What you have:** + Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree. + 8 years of experience supporting risk-related, compliance related, or business control design activities; OR 8 years of experience in a relevant quantitative discipline; OR Advanced degree or designation in a risk management or quantitative discipline, and 6 years of experience supporting risk-related, and/or compliance-related, or business control design activities; OR PhD in a risk management or quantitative discipline, and 4 years of experience supporting risk-related, and/or compliance-related, or business control design activities. **What sets you apart:** + **Risk Assessment Methodologies:** Proficient in various risk assessment frameworks and techniques (e.g., RCSA, risk scoring, impact/likelihood analysis). + **Control Design and Testing:** Ability to design, implement, and test controls to ensure their effectiveness. + **Risk Management Frameworks:** Strong understanding of enterprise risk management (ERM) principles and frameworks. + **Data Analysis and Reporting:** Proficiency in analyzing risk data, identifying trends, and preparing comprehensive reports using business intelligence tools. + **Regulatory Knowledge:** Broad understanding of relevant regulatory landscapes, with the ability to stay informed of changes. + **Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking:** Ability to analyze complex situations, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions. + **Communication and Interpersonal Skills:** Excellent ability to communicate complex risk concepts clearly to various stakeholders, build relationships, and influence decision-making. + **Leadership and Project Management:** Proven ability to lead projects, manage multiple priorities, and drive initiatives to completion. + **Business Acumen:** Understanding of business operations, strategies, and objectives to align risk management efforts effectively. **Domain-Specific Knowledge:** (required in all the following areas) + Information Security + IAM (Identify and Access Managemen5t) + Privacy + Data & Analytics + Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) + Resiliency **Compensation range:** The salary range for this position is: $127,310 - $243,340. **USAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
